The Equine RegenRug delivers three clinically established therapeutic modalities simultaneously across the full back and topline of the horse — the anatomical area that absorbs the most mechanical stress during training and competition, and the area least accessible to compression boot therapy.
Far-infrared heat therapy penetrates deep into the longissimus dorsi and surrounding connective tissue, stimulating capillary dilation and increasing blood flow without surface overheating. PEMF therapy at 7.83 Hz — the Schumann resonance frequency — stimulates cellular energy production, reduces the inflammatory response at the cellular level, and supports bone and cartilage health. Red light photon therapy boosts mitochondrial ATP production in muscle and connective tissue, accelerating the natural repair cycle without heat or pharmaceutical intervention.
All three therapies can be run simultaneously or independently. Each modality has its own programme selection on the USB-C rechargeable digital controller. The 12-hour programmable timer allows overnight recovery sessions while the horse rests in the stable.
Therapy 1 — Far-Infrared Heat Therapy
Far-infrared heat operates at wavelengths that penetrate directly into muscle tissue and connective tissue beneath the skin surface — unlike conventional stable rugs or surface heating pads, which warm only the coat and outer skin layers.
The deep, even warmth delivered by the Equine RegenRug stimulates capillary dilation across the longissimus dorsi, trapezius, and gluteal muscle groups — improving blood flow, reducing chronic muscle tension, and supporting the clearance of lactic acid and metabolic waste from deep tissue.
Temperature range: 30 to 60°C. Adjustable timer up to 12 hours. Suitable for pre-exercise warm-up, post-exercise recovery, and overnight stable therapy.
Therapy 2 — PEMF Therapy at 7.83 Hz
The Equine RegenRug delivers pulsed electromagnetic field therapy at 7.83 Hz — the Schumann resonance, the natural electromagnetic frequency of the Earth’s atmosphere and a frequency associated with cellular regulation and biological repair processes.
At the cellular level, PEMF at this frequency stimulates ATP production, the primary energy source for cellular repair and regeneration. Research associates PEMF therapy with reduced neutrophil activity and lower prostaglandin levels — two key markers of the inflammatory response that contribute to post-exercise soreness and swelling. PEMF has also been associated with stimulation of osteoblast and chondrocyte activity, supporting bone healing and cartilage protection — particularly relevant for horses in hard training or recovery from musculoskeletal injury.
Programme: 30-minute auto-cycle. Frequency: 7.83 Hz (Schumann resonance).
Therapy 3 — Red Light Photon Therapy
Red light photon therapy — also known as photobiomodulation (PBM) — uses specific wavelengths of red light to stimulate natural cellular processes without heat, medication, or mechanical action.
Light energy delivered across the full back panel of the Equine RegenRug is absorbed by mitochondria in muscle and connective tissue cells, boosting ATP production and triggering a cascade of repair processes including collagen synthesis, reduced inflammatory cytokine activity, and accelerated tissue regeneration.
Red light photon therapy is non-thermal — no heat is generated in the tissue — making it suitable for horses with heat sensitivity or those in the acute phase of soft tissue recovery.
